How to Place Firestick Remote into Bluetooth Pairing Mode & Connect
Steps to Put the Remote into Pairing Mode & Connect:
Turn On Your Fire Stick:
Plug your Fire TV Stick into the HDMI port and power source. Ensure it’s powered on and displaying the home screen or a "remote not detected" message.
Prepare the Remote:
Insert fresh batteries into your Fire Stick remote. Weak batteries can prevent pairing.
Enter Pairing Mode:
Press and hold the Home button (the house icon) on your remote for 10-20 seconds.
For Alexa Voice Remotes (2nd Gen or later), you’ll see the LED light (if present) start blinking blue, indicating it’s in pairing mode. For older models without an LED, just hold the button until the Fire Stick responds.
Wait for Connection:
The Fire Stick should automatically detect the remote once it’s in pairing mode. You’ll see an on-screen confirmation when it connects, or the remote will simply start working (e.g., you can navigate the menu).
If it doesn’t pair after 20 seconds, release the button, wait a few seconds, and try holding the Home button again.
Check the Connection:
Test the remote by pressing buttons like Select or Play/Pause. If it works, you’re connected.
