To turn off the talking voice screen reader, known as Text-to-Speech, on your PS4 as of March 25, 2025, follow these steps:
Turn on your PS4 and go to the home screen.

Navigate to Settings using the left thumbstick or D-pad and press X.

Scroll down to Accessibility and press X.

Select Text-to-Speech and press X.

Highlight Enable Text-to-Speech and press X to toggle it off. If it’s already unchecked, the screen reader is disabled.

Press O to back out of the menu and return to the home screen.
