How to Re calibrate your STICKS on Controller using XBOX Settings to FIX Stick DRIFT!
Stick drift is a common and frustrating issue where the controller's analog sticks register movement even when you aren't touching them. While the root cause is often a physical problem like dust, debris, or wear and tear, Microsoft has provided a recalibration tool within the Xbox Accessories app to address minor stick drift issues and misalignments.
Here is the best method to attempt to fix stick drift using the built-in recalibration tool:
Step 1: Access the Xbox Accessories App
Connect your controller: Plug your Xbox controller into your Xbox Series X|S using a USB-C cable. This ensures a stable connection for the recalibration process.
Open the Xbox Accessories app: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Navigate to Profile & system Settings Devices & connections Accessories.
Step 2: Recalibrate the Sticks
Select your controller: In the Accessories app, choose the controller you want to recalibrate.
Find the "More options" menu: Select the ... (More options) button.
Go to Recalibration options: In this menu, you'll find an option for Recalibration options. Select it.
Choose the stick to recalibrate: The app will prompt you to choose the stick that needs recalibration (left or right).
Follow the on-screen prompts: The app will walk you through the calibration process, which usually involves moving the stick in circles and pressing it down to establish its new "centered" position. Follow the instructions carefully.
