Scanning a QR code from a photo saved in your gallery is very easy on Samsung Galaxy devices, thanks to the built-in QR scanner feature available through the Quick Settings panel. This is especially useful if someone has sent you a QR code via messaging app, email, or you've taken a screenshot of one you want to scan later.

To begin, swipe down from the top of your screen to access the Quick Settings menu. Look for the tile labeled Scan QR Code. If you don’t see it, tap the edit icon (usually shaped like a pencil or three dots), then drag the Scan QR Code button from the list of available options into your active Quick Settings area.

Once added, tap the Scan QR Code button to open the scanner. Normally, this tool expects you to point your camera at a QR code, but it also includes the option to scan from an image file. Tap the gallery icon—usually shown as a small photo or image icon—to open your photo library. Select the image containing the QR code you want to scan.

After selecting the image, tap Done or OK, and the QR code scanner will automatically analyze the code within the photo. If it’s a valid code, it will display the associated content or link, and you can choose to open it in your browser or take the appropriate action, like joining a Wi-Fi network or accessing a website.

This method works on most modern Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI and doesn’t require any third-party apps.
