How to Change Trusted Phone Number on iPhone
Changing the trusted phone number on your iPhone is an important step if you've changed your number or want to improve the security of your Apple ID. A trusted phone number is used for two-factor authentication and account recovery, so keeping it up to date is essential.
To get started, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap your Apple ID profile at the very top of the screen. From the Apple ID menu, select Sign-In & Security. Next, tap on Two-Factor Authentication to access the trusted phone number settings.
Under this section, you’ll see your currently added phone number. If it’s outdated or incorrect, you can tap on it to remove it. Then, tap Add a Trusted Phone Number to add a new one. Enter the new phone number you want to use and select whether you want to verify it via Text Message or Phone Call.
Tap Continue, and Apple will send a verification code to the number you entered. Enter the code to complete the verification process. Once verified, your new trusted number will be added to your Apple ID. If you haven’t already removed the old number, you can now go back and do so to avoid confusion.
This process ensures that only you—or someone with access to your trusted phone—can access your Apple ID, making your account more secure.
