How to Screen Mirror your iPhone to Roku Device (Easy Method)
To screen mirror your iPhone to a Roku device, you can use Apple’s AirPlay feature, which is supported by most modern Roku models. This lets you display your iPhone’s entire screen on your TV wirelessly. Here’s how to do it step-by-step:
First, ensure your Roku device supports AirPlay. Most Roku TVs and players running Roku OS 9.4 or later do, including Roku Smart TVs from brands like TCL or Hisense, and streaming devices like Roku Ultra or Streaming Stick+. To check, go to Settings on your Roku, then System, then About. If the software version is 9.4 or higher, you’re good. If not, update it under System Update.
Next, make sure both your iPhone and Roku are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. On your Roku, go to Settings, then Network, then About to see the network name. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then Wi-Fi, and confirm it matches.
Now, enable AirPlay on your Roku. From the Roku home screen, go to Settings, then Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. Toggle AirPlay to On. You can also set a code requirement here—choose First Time Only for convenience, or adjust as needed.
On your iPhone, swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center. If you’re using an older iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom instead. Tap the Screen Mirroring icon, which looks like two overlapping rectangles. A list of available devices will pop up. Select your Roku device by tapping its name, like “Roku TV” or “Living Room Roku.”
If a code appears on your TV, enter it on your iPhone when prompted, then tap OK. Your iPhone screen should now mirror to your TV. Everything you do—apps, videos, games—will show up on the big screen. To adjust the display, rotate your iPhone to landscape for a fuller view, or tweak your phone’s auto-rotate settings.
To stop mirroring, go back to the Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring again, and select Stop Mirroring. Alternatively, press the Home button on your Roku remote to end it from the TV side.
If your Roku doesn’t show up, double-check the Wi-Fi connection and ensure AirPlay is enabled. Restart both devices if needed. Older Roku models without AirPlay support won’t work natively, but you can use a third-party app like Mirror for Roku from the App Store. Download it, connect to the same Wi-Fi, and follow its setup—though it may require adding a channel on your Roku and could have lag or cost for premium features.
