The first step of getting ChestShop configured is downloading and installing it. You can find the link to the official ChestShop download page in the description above. The download button is in the top right side of the page. You will also need to download EssentialsX and Vault as these plugins are required in order for ChestShop to work. Other economy plugins work with ChestShop also. However, for the purpose of this tutorial, we will just be using EssentialsX economy.
After you have ChestShop, EssentialsX, and Vault downloaded, it is time to install them. Installing ChestShop in Minecraft is super easy. Just drag-and-drop ChestShop as well as Vault and EssentialsX into the ‘plugins’ folder on your server. If you don’t have a plugins folder, no worries. You just need to setup a Bukkit, Spigot, or Paper server in order to get one. Get those setup, and you won’t have an issue.
Now that you have ChestShop added to the plugins folder, restart your server in order to get it installed. You will see a ‘ChestShop’ folder appear within your plugins folder. Here is where we can get into the ChestShop Admin Guide. Inside this ChestShop folder, you will see all of the configuration files for the plugin. All of the config files are super well documented. However, the one you will want to focus on the most is the config.yml. Here you will be able to do things like set taxes on ChestShops, set the cost to setup a ChestShop, etc.
Speaking of setting up a ChestShop, how do you setup a ChestShop in Minecraft? Well, making a ChestShop is easy. Just place down a chest and put whatever item you want to sell inside that chest. It doesn’t matter what item it is. Now, place a sign on that chest. Leave the first line of the sign blank. On the second line put the amount of an item you want to sell. A full stack for example would be 64. Then, on the next line put ‘B # : # S’. This basically because that you will set the price a player will but it from you at and the amount you will buy something from a player. You don’t have to have both. If you just wanted to sell players items for example, you would do simple ‘B #’ on the 3rd line of the sign. Lastly, on the forth line, put a ‘?’. This will automatically make the shop for the item that is in the chest. Now, click done, and the ChestShop will register and activate! You can make admin shops by putting ‘Admin Shop’ on the first line instead of leaving it blank.
