How to TURN OFF Controller Speaker on PS5 Settings (NO SOUND)
2Turning off the speaker on your PS5 DualSense controller is a simple process that can be done in seconds. This is useful if you find the controller speaker distracting or if you prefer to have all game audio come through your TV, soundbar, or headset.
There are two primary methods to do this.
Method 1: Using the Control Center (Recommended)
This is the fastest and most direct way to disable the speaker without leaving your game.
Press the PS button (the PlayStation logo in the middle of your controller) to open the Control Center at the bottom of the screen.
Navigate to the Sound icon (the speaker icon 🔉 ).
Select Controller Speaker.
Move the slider all the way to the left until the icon shows it is muted or the volume is at zero.
Once you do this, all sound effects that would normally come from the controller speaker will be silenced.
Method 2: Using the Settings Menu
This method is for a more permanent adjustment from the system settings menu.
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon ⚙ ️ in the top-right corner).
Navigate to Sound.
On the left, select Volume.
On the right, you will see a slider for the Controller Speaker.
Move the slider all the way to the left to turn the volume to zero.
