How to STOP Switching Audio on PS5 from Speakers to Headset
1plug in your headset (wired via the controller or USB) and head back to Settings, Sound, Audio Output. Even with the headset connected, ensure Output Device stays set to TV or HDMI Device. Then, go to Output to Headphones and select Chat Audio Only. This ensures game and system audio stick to the speakers, while the headset handles party or game chat if you’re using it. If the audio still jumps to the headset, double-check the Control Center. This can happen if the system overrides your settings on detecting a new device, but locking it to TV in the main settings usually holds.
