How to Fix No Signal on PS5 with TV (Resolution & HDMI Fix)
First, check the basics: make sure your HDMI cable is securely plugged into both the PS5 and your TV or monitor. A loose connection is often the culprit. If it’s plugged in tight, try swapping out the HDMI cable for another one, cables can go bad, and the PS5 needs a high-quality HDMI 2.1 cable, like the one it came with, to handle its output properly.
Next, confirm you’re on the right HDMI input on your TV. Use your remote to cycle through the inputs, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, until you hit the one your PS5 is connected to. If that doesn’t work, power down both the PS5 and the TV completely, unplug them from the wall for a minute, then plug them back in and turn them on.
If the screen’s still blank, your PS5 might be stuck in a weird resolution mode your TV can’t handle. Boot it into Safe Mode to fix this: turn off the PS5, then press and hold the power button until you hear a second beep, about 7 seconds. Connect your controller with a USB cable, hit the PS button, and select “Change Video Output” or “Reset Video Settings” to default it back to something your TV can display.
Still no luck? Test the PS5 on another TV or monitor. If it works there, the issue might be with your original display’s HDMI port. If it doesn’t, the PS5’s HDMI port could be damaged, rare, but it happens. In that case, you’d need to contact Sony support for a repair.
