How to Switch Microphone to Controller or Headset on PS5 Settings (Best Method)
2There are two easy ways to switch your microphone input on your PS5 between the controller's built-in mic and a connected headset.
Method 1: The Quickest Method (Recommended)
This method is best for making a quick switch without leaving your game.
Press the PS button on your controller to open the Control Center at the bottom of the screen.
Navigate to the Mic icon. It looks like a microphone.
Select the Input Device option.
A list of available microphones will appear. You can then choose between your Wireless Controller or your Headset.
Method 2: The Full Settings Menu
This method is useful if you want to access more detailed microphone settings, such as the microphone level.
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon ⚙ ️ ).
Select Sound.
On the left-hand menu, select Microphone.
Under the "Input Device" section, you can select your desired microphone: Controller, your Headset, or any other connected USB microphone.
