How to DELETE Users & Accounts from PS5 (Best Method)
1Deleting a user from your PS5 is a quick way to remove a profile and all its associated data from the console. This is different from permanently closing a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, which must be done through Sony's website.
Here is the best method to delete a user account from your PS5:
Important: Back Up Your Data First
Before you delete a user, be aware that this action will permanently remove all data associated with that profile from the PS5's internal storage. This includes:
Saved game data
Screenshots and video clips
Games and applications purchased by that user
If you want to keep any of this data, make sure to back it up to the PlayStation Plus cloud storage or an external drive before proceeding.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Log in to a different account on your PS5—one that you do NOT want to delete. You cannot delete the account you are currently logged in with.
From the home screen, navigate to the Settings icon (the gear in the top-right corner) and press the X button.
Scroll down and select Users and Accounts.
In the menu on the left, scroll down and select Delete Users.
On the right-hand side, a list of all the users on the console will appear.
Select the user you wish to delete and press the X button.
A confirmation screen will appear, warning you that all associated data will be deleted. Review the warning carefully.
If you are sure you want to proceed, select Yes to confirm the deletion.
The user and all their data will then be removed from the console. If you wish to use that account on the PS5 again in the future, you will need to re-add it by logging in with the PSN sign-in ID and password.
