How to TEST your Stick Drift on your Controller on PS5 (Settings Tutorial)
28Stick drift on a PS5 controller can be quite frustrating, but there are ways to identify and address it. Here are some steps you can take:
Reset the Controller:
Turn off your PS5 console.
Locate the small recessed button on the back of your controller (next to the Sony logo).
Press and hold that button for 5 seconds using a pin or straightened paper clip.
Connect the controller to the PS5 using a USB cable.
Turn on your PS5 and press the PS button on your controller to reconnect it.
Rotate the Thumbsticks:
Gently lift and rotate both thumbsticks.
Push them down for about 10 seconds until you hear a click.
Rotate the depressed thumbsticks clockwise for 10 seconds, then counterclockwise for another 10 seconds.
Release them and check if this resolves the stick drift issue.
Clean the Controller Surface & Sticks:
Wipe the analog sticks (the joints attached to the controller) with a soft, dry cloth (like an eyeglass cleaning cloth).
Avoid using alcohol or any cleaning solution.
Clear any debris by rotating the analog sticks.
Adjust the Input Threshold:
Go into the controller settings and change the Trigger Effect Intensity (turn it off, then back on if necessary).
