How to TURN OFF Talking Voice Assistant on PS5 Settings (Screen Reader)
The talking voice assistant on the PS5 is officially called the Screen Reader. This is an accessibility feature designed to help users with visual impairments navigate the console's interface. If it has been turned on by accident and you want to disable it, the process is quick and simple.
Here is the best method to turn off the Screen Reader on PS5:
Go to Settings. From the PS5 home screen, navigate to the gear-shaped Settings icon in the top-right corner and select it.
Select "Accessibility." This option is located in the main list of settings.
Select "Screen Reader." It will be on the left-hand menu.
Turn off "Enable Screen Reader." This is a toggle switch. Make sure it is toggled to the left (the "off" position).
Once you disable this setting, the PS5 will stop reading the on-screen text and menu items aloud. The voice assistant will be turned off.
