How to TURN OFF the Game Voice Chat on PS5 Pro for EVERY GAME
2To turn off game voice chat on your PS5 Pro for every game, you need to adjust the console-level audio settings. This will disable in-game voice chat globally, overriding individual game settings, as of March 11, 2025. The PS5 Pro uses the same system software as the standard PS5, so the process is consistent. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Access the Settings Menu
From the PS5 Pro home screen, navigate to the top-right corner and select Settings, the gear icon, using your DualSense controller.
Step 2: Go to Sound Settings
Scroll down in the Settings menu and select Sound.
Choose Audio Output to manage how voice chat audio is handled.
Step 3: Disable Voice Chat Audio
In the Audio Output menu, scroll to the bottom to find Voice Chat Output.
Select Mute Voice Chat to turn off all game voice chat audio. This mutes incoming voice chat from other players across all games, effectively disabling it at the system level.
Step 4: Adjust Microphone Settings (Optional)
If you want to ensure your microphone doesn’t transmit voice chat either, return to the Settings menu.
Select Sound, then Microphone.
Set the Microphone Status When Logged In to Mute. This keeps your mic off by default whenever you start the PS5 Pro or join a game.
Alternatively, set Input Device to None to disable microphone input entirely, though this isn’t necessary if you’ve muted voice chat output.
Step 5: Verify in Game Base (Optional)
To confirm voice chat is off, press the PS button on your controller to open the control center.
Select Game Base, then check any active party or game chat. If muted, you won’t hear others, and they won’t hear you if your mic is also muted.
You can also leave any active game voice channels here by selecting them and choosing Disconnect or Mute.
