13The PS5 does not have a dedicated web browser app, but you can access a hidden web browser through a workaround. Here’s how:
Access the Browser via Settings:
Go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Link with Other Services.
Select X, then Link Account.
Choose Sign In, which opens a browser window to log into X.com.
Once loaded, you can navigate to other websites by modifying the URL in the address bar or using search engines.
Access via Message Link:
On the PS5, open the Game Base and select a friend or create a group chat.
Send a message with a URL (e.g., google.com).
Click the link in the chat to open the browser. From there, navigate to any website.
Navigate the Browser:
Use the left analog stick to move the cursor.
Press X to select links or buttons.
Use R2 to zoom in, L2 to zoom out.
Press Triangle to access the address bar for entering URLs.
Use the on-screen keyboard to type (opened with X in the address bar).
Notes:
The browser is limited; it doesn’t support video streaming (e.g., YouTube) or some complex websites due to missing features like JavaScript optimization.
No bookmarks or history are saved; you must re-enter URLs each session.
For stability, avoid opening multiple tabs or heavy sites.
To take screenshots of web pages for custom backgrounds, hold the Create button and save to Media Gallery.
