HTC Vive supersampling setting: Graphic comparison and instructions
An explanation of the new supersampling setting for SteamVR with graphics comparisons and instructions.
Open the steamvr.vrsettings file under Steam\config with Notepad and add this line under "steamvr" :
"renderTargetMultiplier" : 1.5,
The last statement under "steamvr" should NOT end with a comma, so add the above statement before "showStage"

UPDATE - Best settings for Elite Dangerous:
Elite: Dangerous has an in-game graphics option called "HMD Image Quality" that basically does the same thing as setting supersampling in Vive, so this tweak is not necessary, but it will give you increased graphics across all games.
The structure of the config file has changed since making this video, it may look different than the example shown on the screen. The only section in the config file that matters for the purpose of this video is "steamvr" so the appearance of the other sections should be left alone.
