I understand why hosts/groups will naturally distrust the Old Monk fog door entrance given that many invaders have camped the corners to try and ambush the host (usually because they saw someone do it on YouTube for an instant kill) before they can really react. Personally I don't want to have such trivial invasions/summons so I try to stand where the Old Monk spawns in, I sometimes get bored of waiting and walk around the room though, that way the host can somewhat easily see me through the fog and know I'm not camping the corner. Which is why when I see someone through the fog trying to cheese the boss I am more likely to use better equipment (in this case my Cursed Weapon buff and later the chase down setup) to deal with them quicker.
