0:00 Zaphias Castle
The first battle you run into is another 2-on-1, but the enemies are much weaker than Adecor and Boccos, even on Hard. The rest of the symbol encounters are singular enemies who shouldn't stand a chance if you Manual Cancel.
3:04 Teaming Up w/a Noble Girl
Yuri spots and unnamed aristocratic girl being chased by a bunch of knights, who he quickly dispatches. The girl tries to hit him over the head with a vase, but fortunately misses. After the misunderstanding is cleared up, she states that she needs to warn Flynn of something.
Along the way, you should look for a kitchen where you can freely heal. Level up as much as you need before entering Flynn's room. Inside, you'll be attacked by an assassin.
10:09 Boss: Zagi (Hard)
The first phase has Zagi only use normal, easily guardable attacks, though you'll still need Manual Cancel in order to guard quickly enough. After he takes enough damage, he gets serious, but the girl will join as a guest and support you with healing artes.
In the second phase, you must adjust the girl's AI so she doesn't get aggressive with the enemy, since there's a Secret Mission for preventing too much damage to her. I have no idea what the damage threshold is for the Secret Mission to fail.
You'll notice that Zagi often uses the guard-breaking Falling Leaf right before Cyclone Shot, but if you take Falling Leaf without guarding, you'll have enough time to guard Cyclone Shot and attack him before he can recover. This is important because the game gives you no means to teching out or backstep at this point, which means enemy knockdown artes are brutal.
18:12 Escaping the Castle
Zagi gets pissed when another assassin tells him to retreat, and kills him before retreating. What a dick. Afterwards, search Flynn's room for some items and fluff dialogue. As you continue, the girl, Estellise/Estelle, will join your for real in her proper combat outfit. The symbol encounters now come in groups of two or three to compensate.
Eventually, you'll find the statue the other prisoner was talking about, which can be moved to gain access to the sewers.
30:17 Sewers
There is no boss here, but there is a tutorial on chain encounters, which happen when you fight a symbol encounter, but another one is close by. These are dangerous and time-consuming right now because you don't have strong AOE spells to deal with the combined enemy parties, but later, they could be good for farming.
35:24 Escaping Zaphias
Back outside, we find ourselves near Mordio's mansion again. We need to head back to the Lower Quarter, but the Schwann Brigade is also chasing us. Fortunately, the Lower Quarter residents distract the knights and give us some supplies and money for traveling, though Yuri is reluctant to take valuables from his neighbors.
Outside on the world map, go to the nearby camp to rest up and talk to the caravan people.
