Imaginary Friend Asylum | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
We have gotten some really great horror games over the past few weeks and I am so happy to say that Imaginary Friend Asylum is amongst the best of them. A while back I archived the first release of the game which was merely a demo, but today the full game was finally released.
We play as Anthony who gets sent to an old Asylum and quickly makes friends with the other children and their imaginary friends. Each imaginary friend is so colorful and beautifully designed. It always keeps you guessing on what awesome design is next for when a new Imaginary Friend gets introduced.
The staff at the Asylum are treating us horribly and so we need to stick together and support each other to make it out alive. The story was surprisingly heartfelt and dark, but also funny sometimes. My favorite Imaginary Friend has to be Polo which is always obsessed with beauty and style.
The music is beautiful as well with an amazing theme song (which I wished was used in the actual game itself) and the overal atmosphere is unlike any other horror game you have experienced. It might not be the scariest game out there, but it plays more like an adventure game with horror elements. One really important factor that makes the overal experience so much better is the large cast of characters. By having so many characters you can interact with, it makes the segments in between the scary moments almost feel relaxing. It feels a bit like a Scooby-Doo episode where you and the gang are trying to unravel the mystery.
I was really impressed with the twists and turns that the game made and even though I saw the main twist coming from a mile away, it still left me satisfied and I cannot wait to see what is next for these talented developers.
