Imagine buying one of those popular retro consoles with games on it from Amazon, making a video for YouTube, and a few days later, the police show up at your door, not just wanting a cup of coffee, but raiding your house and taking all your retro consoles with them. This, or something like it, is what happened to good old Francesco, better known as Once Were Nerd:

In total, the industrious guys from the Guardia di Finanza confiscated 30 of his retro devices, which Francesco had previously used to produce reviews on his channel. The investigation is still ongoing, but now good old Francesco faces a prison sentence of up to three years, a fine of over €15,000, and, as if the preventive blocking of social media channels, including YouTube, before a possible conviction wasn't enough, he could lose his years of work as a YouTuber and thus his main source of income. Now you might be wondering how the hell that's possible.
