Intel Ocean Cove To Succeed Core CPUs | AMD Threadripper 2000 | PS5 Components Production News
Intel's Ocean Cove processor architecture is rumored to succeed the current architecture found in the core lineup, hinting Intel are planning on a major redesign for their future 12 generation processors. the time frame for release will likely not be until at least 2020, and will be the first processors probably heavily impacted by Jim Keller's involvement in the project.
Meanwhile, AMD's ThreadRipper 2000 and other Ryzen 2000 series CPUs are ready for mass market, of course these processors didn't launch along side the 2700x and other ryzen processors in April, 2018 - but we've known they're coming. So we delve into the leaked specifications of the ThreadRipper 2950X and other processors.
Finally, TSMC have confirmed that 7nm production for 'gaming' parts has begun, a great indicator that both Sony and Microsoft are going to be using AMD for their future PS5 and Xbox 2 consoles. The PlayStation 5 and next generation xbox will likely use Navi for the GPU and a Zen 2 or possibly Zen 3 based CPU, but won't be on shelves before 2020.
