Spectre Next Gen More Intel Vulnerabilities | Micron's Working DDR5 RAM | Tim Sweeney On Ray Tracing
More Spectre vulnerabilities have been discovered by Intel themselves, these vulnerabilities are dubbed Spectre next generation and so far there have been eight vulnerabilities discovered which effect ARM CPUs alongside Intel and AMD.
We are waiting to see if AMD are also effected by the next generation of Spectre.
Tim Sweeney has spoken on the subject of ray tracing in games, and believes triple A developers should all look towards ray tracing. His comments tell us that GPUs of one to two years will have the performance capabilities for running ray tracing in games for certain things alongside traditional rendering techniques. Possibly, we will see it on the PS5 and next gen Xbox consoles.
Micron and Cadence have demonstrated the world's first DDR5 memory running at 4400Mhz which is almost 40% faster than current DDR4 RAM. The biggest benefit of DDR5 is it will support larger capacities, which will be critical for future technology.
