AMD Ryzenfall Patch Incoming | TSMC Wafer on Wafer Could be the Future of GPUs & More
Today, AMD respond to further comments from CTS Labs on the whole Ryzenfall/Chimera/Masterkey/Fallout security vulnerabilities for Ryzen and Threadripper, assuring us that patches are already in the stages of testing shortly after the release of the controversial report.
Intel have released a day 0, launch ready graphics driver, laying down the groundwork and foundations for their plans to expand into the GPU market.
We also have the Steam hardware survey for this month, which shows impressive growth for AMD in both the CPU and graphics card segment. This may be, in part, thanks to the rather impressive Ryzen 2000 series but it could also be down to many other things as well.
TSMC are working on a very, very cool tech called wafer on wafer which, if successful, could be the next big step for graphics card. If the tech words with high enough yields, we may see GPUs break free of the die shrink issue and finally take a leap forward in their evolution.
