Jurassic Joel | Cirno Must Die! | No Failure Runs | Part 5
Behold, the one map I liked the least out of the whole episode. Not quite dislike, but not as much like as the others.
Not because of the boss, no. I personally think the boss is quite alright, his attacks telegraphed well, his spawners clear on where they're going, and overall his battle didn't go on for too long. The last bit with the 4 zombieman spawners got scary though, I could probably get them without using the BFG, but I wasn't risking having 20 zombiemans drop me from 200 to 0 in a second with CMD's difficulty damage outputs. The boss ignores you fighting the low tier guys too, so he could easily nab a backshot at you if your peripheral vision is too occupied dealing with the spawners.
The bit that does irritate me however is his speech. Unlike the usual text crawls, you can't skip it, and it goes on and on. 5 minutes, I counted. I suspect this whole storyline with the Kompressor might get expanded on in the next episodes (or even properly fought, that ought to be an interesting fight), but for the moment, it does feel very tell-and-not-show. Certainly could do with flashbacks showing the catastrophe or perhaps making the speech shorter with implications added to make the players question what happened. Definitely a skip button for the replayers, atleast.
The second boss after this is alright. A bit too easy, but I guess its done more as a test for the Enemy Chaser. That, and this is still technically Episode One, so its quite alright.
