This is the good stuff, this right here. Saine Sisters sure are the best. I don’t even know what else to say about this, it’s just too perfect. Every little detail feels like it’s precisely calibrated specifically to push my buttons, from her model, to what she says, to the way it sounds… She’s such an expert. Even chat and their reactions is perfect. Kurea-sama is truly a goddess.
Pretty simple and easy clip this time. Not that many lines (despite the video length) and not that hard to figure out what she’s saying or what she means. I did struggle a little with the sub formatting, though. The background is really busy and full of purple text, and I wanted to make sure the text is readable on a small phone screen, so I darkened them from the color I usually use for Kurea-sama and made the borders thicker. Does this look okay? If not, what should I do in a case like this in the future? Feedback would be appreciated. All the usual disclaimers still apply: I make these translations in large part to practice my Japanese, which is not very good. I have my work proofread by my friend Cherem, whose Japanese is much better than mine. Big thanks to him for doing so. I like to leave detailed translator’s notes to help people understand why I chose to translate certain things in certain ways.

0:12 It may sound quite formal, and linguistically it is, but “okyaku-sama” (often translated as phrases like “dear customer,” “honored guest,” etc.) is actually a very common term used by Japanese shopkeepers and the like. You may be thinking that not many western shopkeepers say anything like this, in which case, you’d be right. Not many western shopkeepers run onsen ryokan either.
1:04 She’s responding to someone in chat who says 初めてです、帰れなくても良いです (“It’s my first time, you don’t need to let me go home.”) More literally, it’s more like “I don’t need to be able to go home.”
1:55 “Nante,” “nantene,” “nanchatte,” etc, are fairly ‘soft’ ways of walking something back, and “or something” is a more literal translation than “just kidding,” so that’s usually what I like to go with, but there are some cases (such as saying it after “but…” or saying it after an unspoken action) in which “or something” doesn’t make grammatical sense or sounds worse than “just kidding,” so I feel compelled to use the latter instead. It’s not a big deal since I think the context makes it pretty obvious that she intends for it to be ambiguous how serious she is exactly, and I use the tilde to emphasize the teasing tone, but I want to make it clear that this isn’t as certain or as full of a retraction as “just kidding” might make it sound.
2:03 “Ningen-san,” literally “human-san,” is what she calls you in this scenario when she wants to be a little more intimate than “okyaku-sama.” I would assume most people here are Lulu fans who know “ningen” by heart. I also want to note that when she uses it as a 2nd-person pronoun, I changed it to “you” in the subs so that it doesn’t sound absolutely terrible, as usual.
5:34 “Love bite” is what we would call this in English, but the Japanese term is literally “sweet bite.” It means the same thing, of course.
