Kid Chameleon High Scores - Frosty Doom (73,440 Points) [TWR]
Frosty Doom has the highest path bonus of any level in the game - 50,000 points, making this a key level in our single-segment highscore run. Because Skycutter can break through blocks while upside-down, we will be abusing this ability to skip a large portion of this level. Clocks are rather simple to collect this time; the critical times are at 5:57, 8:56, and 8:44.
You want to start off this level as Skycutter. This can be done either through helmet reset glitch or by bringing one in from Hoverboard Beach via bridge telepad. Immediately to your right at the start is a single prize block. You want to activate this block but not collect the Cyclone helmet inside. After this, there is a group of four prize blocks. The first and third are both clocks. The best way for which to distribute the time buffering created by clock collection is as you make your pass by the third prize block, to trigger it and continue onward.
Your goal now is to use Skycutter to break the first ice block in the floor you come up to. Breaking any subsequent one risks not making the first critical time. Immediately after breaking the block, turn back left and flip back right-side up at the same time. Note if the latter is not done properly, you will hit the right side of the last prize block and surely miss the first critical time again, highlighting the fact that this first critical time has a rather narrow time frame for which to achieve. Continue to the left to pick up the first clock ideally at 5:57. Now activate the first prize block and once again, do not immediately collect the clock inside, but continue to the left, until hitting the Cyclone helmet which was spawned earlier. After the transformation process is complete, head right once again, collecting the clock by 8:56, and fall into the gap you created earlier with Skycutter.
We have now skipped about 75% of the level. Continue falling all the way to the bottom of the level, head left and trigger only the right two shooter blocks. Jump into this gap and tap the C button about three times to gain enough height to clear the wall of steel blocks, and also be sure to trigger the shooter block embedded in the subsequent steel block wall beyond that.
Fly up in between the rock and steel block columns and at the top, aim for the rightmost shifting block. Move it up four spaces, such that you are able to land on the top of the adjacent rock block wall. Failing to do this will cause Cyclone to fall down the next region too slowly, as he will still be in his spinning animation. If all previous steps were done almost identically, you should have absolutely no problems with the cycles exhibited by the ghost blocks at the bottom. You should simply be able to comfortably run through them as they appear. Enter the cave, and as soon as the ceiling is cleared. Simply jump and fly up to the flag.
73,440 points is the third highest point value awarded by any level in the game - the highest scorers being Beneath the Twisted Hills and The Final Marathon (unless you also want to count the Under Skull Mountain I 100K Trip, which would be the highest). It appears to be overly generous, due to the fact that the level itself isn't that hard. However, the next level is Bloody Swamp, and any soul brave enough to enter that level deserves a handsome reward.
