When the level begins, be sure to be holding the B, C, and Right buttons, so that you can begin the level oriented upside-down. You want to fly off to the right to the second floating island by flipping consecutively, such that you get as horizontal a flight pattern as possible by Skycutter. There's little leeway for doing so, because the geometry of the first floating island projects upwards, likely to block your progress if you don't evade it perfectly. When on the second island, hit the center block, as it contains the first clock. Wait for it to fall out, but do not land on the rubber block beneath it, as that will mess up your rhythm. Jump up to the left to collect it at 5:57, and use invulnerability now, as you'll need it for the next step.

At the very left edge you want to flip up into the sky. Knowing when to flip back to normal is almost a matter of muscle memory, but the key of knowing when to flip back is a simple visual queue. As you rise, move back and forth to get as straight an ascent as possible, such that you're able to touch the right side of the third cloud, as seen in the video. As soon as you touch this location, turn back left and begin flipping. This should orient yourself, such that you land on the end of the platform marked by a brick floor, an archer, and a couple clouds.

Be on high alert though, because if you look on the ceiling, the third prize block from the right contains a clock. This means that almost immediately after you land on this platform, you're going to want to jump to it. If you hit it successfully, flip once to land on the block you just hit, and collect that clock at the first possible moment (8:54). The challenge now is to hit the flag on the same second that clock is collected. This can be done successfully by going to the right off the platform and falling up to the flag. Turn around and flip at about the point that your overboard crosses the same altitude as the bottom of the dragon statue to the left, and if done perfectly, you will capture that flag on the same second the previous clock was, 8:54.
