This is a remake of two older videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z73nYOUE0NQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj3ibG2oytY).

The Alter Ego Duplicator is the only full Duplicator in a run without any quick kill tricks, and it's difficult to destroy cleanly, especially on Killer8. There are four clips here, the first on Normal and the rest on Killer8.

Normal (0:00)
Using Con to kill the Duplicator was a bit found by Simna, if I recall correctly. It's necessary to destroy at least one of the cores with normal shots due to the blood route, and I prefer to do it on the first one. The scan range for the Duplicator is a little tricky; you need to scan the main body from a close-enough distance, not just any part of the Duplicator, but the range actually extends a little higher than you might expect. The rest of the cores are destroyed with Collateral Shots. The positioning in the center is a little tough to nail, too. You need to be close enough to shoot all of the cores, but far enough to not trigger the Egg Smiles. It's faster to leave the room by dodge rolling the last few Egg Smiles, which can be difficult with the blinding light, but it's not too bad to tell with the audio. Alternatively, shoot them to be safe.

Killer8 Strat 1 (0:33):
The blood route on Killer8 is really tight, so I included an extra clip for context. At this point in the run, you would normally have four vials of blood. By killing an extra Mithril on the second floor before the Duplicator, you get an extra vial for a total of five, enough to avoid any extra blood farming. You must kill the second Mithril here, as the first one does not give thin blood.

The goal of this approach is to kill the "center" cores first, and then kill the first one last, to maximize blood. While it looks a bit clunky, it's still better to kill the Camellia as Con. To make the approach work, it's important to let it move forward past the first core for timing purposes; in this video, I actually may have been too risky and moved too far, so you really don't need to go that far. You also must turn into Dan before the Camellia's blood starts collecting, because you will hit the five vial limit and waste blood otherwise. At this point, you need to destroy all three "center" cores quickly as the blood collects. If all goes well, you should be able to destroy them, and still have three vials left to backtrack and destroy the initial core (and not trigger the Egg Smiles in the process). It is possible to kill the Camellia from the door and still make this strategy work, but it makes the timing much stricter, so it's just better to move forward. When the Duplicator is dead, you can either dodge roll the Eggs or kill them.

Killer8 Strats 2 (1:29) and 3 (2:26):
These recordings do not use fully optimal strats, and are meant to demonstrate several possibilities and situations with the Duplicator. Because the Duplicator is so volatile and the blood route so strict, I figured showing more footage would be helpful for a better understanding of how it works on Killer8.

Neither of these strats kill that extra Mithril, meaning they enter the room with four vials instead of five. Strat 2 kills the Camellia with Dan, which is just barely slower than the Con kill. Strat 3 kills the Camellia with Young Harman, which is a second or two slower than the Dan kill, but it kills the Camellia itself quickly and reliably.

Strat 2 moves forward past the first core to kill the others, while Strat 3 goes for a more "vintage" approach by killing the first core at the beginning. Because both strats start the Duplicator with four vials, it's necessary for both to grind for one more vial of blood for the final Collateral Shot. The general idea is to snipe off limbs and hope to get a critical kill on at least one, but it should only take one or two Smiles to get enough blood.

Like I said, Strats 2 and 3 are *not* optimized strats on their own, and are here to show more possibilities and situations on Killer8.
