This is a remake of an older video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xDzzhKCkh4).

For the most part, the route is the same as ever, but there are some new nuances to make a few floors faster. This route is tailored for PC, though it should still work on GCN with basically no differences.

Floor order: 1 6 4 2 3 5 7

Small note: you can use the mouse on the elevator to choose floors, which can be faster, though I find swapping from mouse and gamepad here to be a little cumbersome, so I just stick with the gamepad.

Floor 1: Straightforward as ever. There is one difference, though: on GCN, you need to stop moving for a brief moment to avoid getting hit by the Camellia Smile, but you can keep running without stopping on PC. It is vital to change to Coyote immediately after obtaining the Soul Shell because Kaede isn't fast enough to run past the other Smiles.

Floor 6: This floor is slightly different, thanks to Simna. Scanning the wall to the right will scan all of the Smiles, including the Laser near the door. Lasers attack right after being scanned, even if you're not in front of them, so that Laser will shoot and die on its own. As always, make the Bombhead explode to kill the Laser next to it. It's better to scan from a safe distance away; you can still run into a Laser even after it kills itself, so being further away lowers the likelihood that you will run into the second Laser. When leaving the floor, don't get to close to the final Laser, or you might prematurely trigger the Bombhead behind it.

Floor 4: Hold right to get into Room 404 without getting hit. When leaving the floor, just run into the Broken. Leaving the floor on Killer8 is a bit different, but I included a small addendum (7:42), and will describe it at the end.

Floor 2: Now this floor is something else, once again thanks to Simna. Walk a few steps forward to trigger both Smiles (obvious from their laughs), charge up the L5 shot, scan the wall to the left, and shoot. The Duplicator is scanned through the wall, and it should die if done correctly. The window for scanning is a bit odd, and it's possible to miss if you're too far to the right, but it's not too bad with practice. Sometimes, due to the weird pathfinding of the missiles, the first Smile may not die, but this is a minor issue (since you can tank the hit, anyway). The Killer8 strat is different here, too, described in the addendum at the end with floor 4.

Floor 3: Easy floor thanks to Kevin's invisibility. You can cut the cord in the bathroom at any spot, not just the sparkling point.

Floor 5: Another easy floor; just run past everything.

Floor 7: The instant-enter for the flowers is up-left, while the instant-enter for the Soul Shell is up-right-ish. In theory, it's faster to enter Vinculum Gate after the Soul Shell with a neutral turn, but I find that dodge rolling gives a consistent angle for the junction (right).

Kevin is the optimal character for the Timer Smile, but if you're not confident with your aim, you can always use Kaede from afar. Here is my strat: I get close to him, and pop all of the dots except for the large one on his torso and head. I move back a bit, and keep my back to him just in case I need to run away. I hit his torso spot, and then move up for the headshot. It's faster to kill him without resetting your position at all, but it can be very risky and I seldom go for it.

On Killer8, nearly all of the floors are the same except 4 and 2, which you can see at 7:42. When leaving floor 4, you need to kill the Broken with two regular shots (do not use charge shots). Mask should have L3 Range at this point, so aim for the floor instead of the Broken directly. If you miss at all, change to Young Harman to tank the hit. Killing the Duplicator on floor 2 starts similarly, but after the L5 Charge shot, kill the Flower Smile at the end of the hallway; the Flower Smile gives enough blood to finish the rest of the level. Watch out for the first Smile, though; if it doesn't die from the missiles, you'll need to react quickly, either by killing it as Mask or tanking it as Young Harman. You can dodge roll the Egg Smile as Mask as I did here, or just kill it if you want to be safe.
