This is a remake of an older video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coa1dmm9Tag).

While the core route is the same, there are some new refinements, mostly at the beginning. I would say that the route is slightly easier now, which feels great to say about one of the worst areas in the run. This route is tailored for PC, but can mostly work on GCN.

The first Backside is used for a Mach Cancel, and it is vital to heal afterwards. The next Backside can be dodge rolled or tanked; I believe it's slightly faster to dodge roll, but it's riskier. If you miss the dodge roll, I recommend just tanking it immediately to avoid getting hit by the Protector. On GCN, you can either manually heal in the menu, or use the old strat of dodge rolling both Backsides.

In Cinema 1, it is necessary to kill the Micro for the blood route. Simna came up with a great set-up: walk right in front of the second stripe of red in the carpet. If done correctly, you should be able to lock-on to the Micro without triggering it. Make sure to heal (if needed) to tank the Protector when leaving.

After leaving Cinema 1, dodge rolling the Backsides outside can be tricky, but the window is pretty forgiving as Con. The blood route is set enough at this point to accommodate some safety heals in case you get hit.

Cinema 4 is deceptively tricky, and I included several attempts at the end. Ideally, you would dodge roll the two black Smile together by staggering one of them with a quick shot, but this is harder than it looks due to their awkward positions and the slope of the floor. In the first attempt (2:26), I missed it entirely. In the second attempt (4:01), I managed to get it, if not very smoothly. The third attempt (4:34) shows a difficult strategy only for demonstration purposes: it is possible to dodge roll both of those Smiles without the need to stagger. It is extremely risky, and I would not recommend it in a run.

Here are videos of some old strats. Because they're really outdated, I have unlisted them on my channel, but they're linked here for public access. Maybe some bits could be useful for some challenge or playthrough one day.

There is currently no Killer8 route video (besides one small snippet here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8jHV2sNkSY), but most of it should be the same; the only difference should be killing/dodge rolling enemies that are usually tanked. That's easier said than done, though, so I'm hoping to record a Killer8 video someday after some testing and discussion with the other runners.
