Ugh, I really don't like this fight... Well kind of... The first half of this fight I've gotten down pretty well and I can do it fairly consistently, it's the last part that really sucks. The first thing to note is that you need to be very careful when attacking normally. Catastrochorus will attack multiple times in a row so unless it straight up stops moving or it's just walking around, don't attack.

Start the fight by building up Counter Shield. Once you have Counter Shield, build up Mirage Staff while getting two counter charges ready so you can Wrathful Flurry cancel. If your damage is right, the boss should then follow your first Wrathful Flurry by entering its armored mode. You can break most of its armor with your second Wrathful Flurry and then finish it with Mirage Staff. Next, build up Second Form with two charges again in the back so you can Wrathful Flurry cancel again. It's likely your not going to trigger the next phase so use Mirage Staff to do some extra deck.

In its second phase it will stop moving and start shooting rocks from its back. This is pretty decently telegraphed as you can see the volcano kind of squish down and turn red. This attack is easy enough to dodge, it will shoot four times so just wait until just after the fourth shot and then Air Step to the volcano. Now as much as I wanted to use Wheel of Fate here; especially considering the volcano is weak to Water; it's just far to unsafe to use.

When in base form you just want to do a full combo, dash away and then attack to get back to the volcano. In Second Form you want to do your combo until Aerial Finisher, dash away and then Air Step back. The big thing to look out for is a counter attack where the volcano hops and splashes lava everywhere and either dash away or use Second Form's finisher. This attack is the cause for most of my failures because there is seemingly no pattern to when this attack comes out. Eventually the boss will armor up again, just do what you did the first time.

Once Catastrochorus is down to its last 3 to 4 bars, this is where the fight turns bad. I have no clue how to safely deal damage here, especially with all the Gold Beats flying around. You can try and waste your time killing them but it won't make any difference because they all just respawn. There is a way to pull them away from the fight so they don't get in your way but I've never been able to do it right.
