Some miscellaneous oddities and glitches from Knights Contract.

0:00 - by doing Spirit Cannon right after rolling off a ledge, the attack interrupts, often leaving a pointless particle effect floating in air.

This can be done repeatedly to fill a level with extra lights. Surprisingly enough, even with two dozen extra particle effects, the frame rate doesn't take a particularly big hit.

Changing maps or reloading makes all the extra particle effects vanish, ending the glitch.

1:26 - after opening the door to the last part of Episode 9, evading behind it while carrying Gretchen can push Heinrich out of bounds. The out of bounds area is fairly small and boxed-in, though, but it looks pretty cool. As a side note, this was the first OoB I discovered in this game.

2:14 - the second OoB I found was doing a roll behind this door near the start of the castle segment in Episode 12. Heinrich can pop through, but this isn't too useful because he just falls to the bottom of the map.

2:21 - it's possible to do a break-out of in-game cutscenes in certain conditions during the fade-in after Witch's Embrace. I'm not sure how it happens exactly yet, though.

At its most complicated, the glitch might happen because of another break-out that happens during this time. I use Witch's Embrace with X-button, which simultaneously activates the "examine gate" prompt. Normally time should stop while examining things, but Witch's Embrace breaks you out of it.

So basically, the glitch might be the result of breaking out of "examine" prompt and then activating an in-game cutscene with a specific timing after Witch's Embrace... gets pretty complex.

As a side effect, the gate's examine prompt won't disappear because of the break-out, so you can keep examining it for no reason even though the gate is already open.

2:53 - some mechanics tidbits. A sideways evade while carrying Gretchen can get very high speed if you do it off ledge while casting a Gretchen-only magic to interrupt the evade.

3:08 - if you use Witch's Embrace while falling, the game may teleport Heinrich back to the last ground position you were at.

3:28 - the Knight's Fury evade is almost immune to gravity and has a wide reach, so you can use it to do a type of small long jump.

3:40 - the rest of the video is some out of bounds sightseeing in Episode 1. You know, while the graphics of this game aren't top-notch, I think the good art direction makes up for it. I've had a lot of fun exploring OoB and just taking in the sights while playing it.
