Knights Contract - small skips & skip ideas
3Some useful minor skips, plus other creative ideas that might not be worth it.
0:00 - you've seen this in runs already, but by breaching through the upper stairs wall after beating Episode 1 boss, you can hit the level end trigger early and skip some navigation. Maybe around 18-20 seconds time save.
0:20 - in Episode 6, you can use Spirit Cannon to explode Heinrich up to the path leading to level finale after turning final water wheel. However, it takes 4-5 seconds too long to get Heinrich back on his feet again for this to be worth it. It might be a different story in TAS-conditions where you can tap X inhumanly fast and recover quicker.
1:02 - in Episode 9, if you go by the normal route, there is an outdoors section. You can skip some navigation and stray wraith enemies by doing a jump attack up to the wooden bridge after lowering it.
1:15 - you can skip third fight in Episode 11 by blowing Heinrich over the wall instead of walking into the room normally. But this isn't helpful if you can spare Witch's Embrace, because that way you can beat the fight faster than you can skip it.
1:55 - a small checkpoint warp in Episode 12. This doesn't save any real time, though... Might be worth it in in-game time runs.

Here's a very desperate back-up plan if all enemies in the area die. It's possible to get Heinrich on top of the stone formation solo by manipulating Minukelsus' explosive potion throws. This is exceedingly difficult and still pretty random, so I'd rather just retry from last checkpoint instead of attempting this.
2:56 - if your rolling angle is bad while breaching the 2nd wall, you might hit death collision and get a game over. This is another factor that makes this skip so hair-raising...
3:07 - the armorless knight enemies are able to launch Heinrich very high in air, giving a high jump to use for rare occasions.
The example in this video does give you a shortcut for reaching the switch, but isn't useful overall because you can't leave the area before all enemies have been fought.
3:30 - it's possible to use environment kills with Gretchen too, although a bit harder compared to Heinrich. Don't know if this could save some time in her fights.
