We are running low on resources, and our inventory is filling up! At a large ravine, we use our Elytra to fly to a ledge at the top, where we start mining a staircase going upwards. So that we do not mine through an entire mountain, we use our map to guide us towards the grassy areas and not the snowy ones!

We pick up our Shulker boxes that we had left at the corner! Moving forward, we see some dark caves and head over to light them up. Behind a lava lake, we light up a small cave section before mining some coal that is over the lava! We find some bats down another branch, but no hostile mobs.

After the caves in the area have been lit up, we follow our torches back to where we had came from! There are some dark spots along the way, so we place down some torches and mine copper ore. Eventually, we return to the steep ravine with the tall lava fall!

Hearing a zombie near the ravine, we mine downwards and break into another cave segment! We come to a lower ledge of the ravine where we see why the ravine appears to be so steep. Two ravines have actually generated here, intersecting each other!

We glide down to the floor of the lower ravine, where a skeleton walks into lava while trying to shoot at us! There are also many caves here, and we run around trying to light them all up. At the dead end of a cave branch, we see a small hole in the dirt that opens up to another cave section!

Digging away the dirt, we enter the cave to light it up and discover an abandoned mineshaft! We find a cave leading vertically upwards with a stream of water, where a yellow axolotl is swimming. Back in the mineshaft, we loot a minecart with a chest, finding some bread and a golden apple!

Our inventory is filling up with items, so we leave the mineshaft to be explored another day! We head back through the dirt deposit to return to the ravine. Along the way, we mine some copper ore! In a large chamber, a creeper gets shot by a skeleton and it drops an orange music disc!

At a dead end in the caves, we do some inventory management, freeing some space in our Shulker boxes! We cannot wait for the next part of the Caves and Cliffs update, which will allow us to craft bundles that would help to reduce the clutter!

We place down more torches to ensure that no mobs can spawn in the caves! Finding a giant hole in the ground, we glide down to the mineshafts, back to where we had found the minecart with the chest. We decide to explore the mineshafts further, contrary to what we had mentioned earlier!

Finding another minecart with chest at a corner of the mineshafts, we open it and see some glow berries, along with other useful resources like lapis lazuli! Later, we find a cave that leads back to the steep ravine. We continue lighting up a different section of the mineshafts, which is strangely mob-free!

Seeing a opening that goes down to a lava lake, we use our Elytra and float down into a side cave! Here, we see some copper, emerald and gold ore. To get back out, we set off our firework rockets and accelerate upwards to the ceiling of the ravine!

Although that was a risky move, there are no mobs in the ravine at all so we only take some collision damage! Since the ravine is quite high, we may be able to dig a hole to the surface near its ceiling. Using our firework rockets, we propel to the top a few more times, to try and get onto a ledge!

We start mining upwards from the ceiling of the ravine! Digging out a gravel deposit, we check our coordinates and see that we are indeed near the surface. With the help of our map, we try to dig towards the green tiles of grass that should be lower in height than the other tiles!

Reaching an explored cave, we find that we are back at the zombie dungeon that we had found yesterday! We dig away some dirt, hoping to find grass but we are still some distance from the surface! We pass through a small underground lake before finally seeing the blue of the sky.

Flying up, we look around for our chest area! To store all the items that we have collected, we craft two more double chests. We are running very low on spruce wood, so it might be time to head back to the plains base and harvest more!
