Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 194 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we continue forward on our messages with work on the backend. We first update ApplicationUser to include the timestamp which the frontend needs, then we update the conversation model to include the optional conversation picture and conversation name. Then we setup the message model and repository. After setting up the repository we setup the ability to generate a new message for a conversation in the message service, and also create a message controller to be able to send a request to the backend to generate the message. To wrap up the episode we test out the ability to create messages and make sure they end up stored in the database with the proper information.
