Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 199 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we wrap up the ability to create messages on the frontend. We start out by setting up the ability to open up the emoji drop down modal, and modify it to be able to append emojis to a new message. Once we are able to send emojis with messages to the backend we setup the ability to properly render the sent emojis inside of our conversation messages. And finally we also setup the ability to view the correct emoji image in the message preview. Once we are finished with setting up emojis, we setup a new component to display images and gifs inside of the conversation message. Once we have that setup and styled we add it to the messages for our conversation and make sure everything looks good to go.
