Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we work on finally being able to send messages from the frontend to the backend. When working on this I found a nasty bug with sending timestamps to the backend so we had to create an entirely new interface specifically to send messages. Once that was created we made an async thunk in the message slice to send and process the message requests for us. And finally we updated the CreateMessageBar to use the new async thunk to send the messages for us.
