Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 198 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
18Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we start out with cleaning up a couple of issues that have been bothering me through out the last couple of episodes. This included images flickering when the messages were being typed out, and the message box scrolling not working properly. Once we fixed up those issues we also got the message container to successfully scroll to the bottom where the newest message is. And finally we setup a few utility functions so we could create the MessageContainer which holds the message text and an image if one was sent. We styled the MessageContainer and added it to the ConversationContainer where we map through all the messages in a conversation and convert them to these message components to be displayed.
