Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we continue working on setting up the ability to update the users profile and banner picture. Today we setup a new modal component to popup when we select a new profile or banner picture. We setup the top action bar which allows us to head back to the edit profile modal, along with a placeholder button which will eventually allow us to save the image. Then we also started working on the ImageEditor itself. We started out simple by loading in the image, and setting up the scaled height and width, along with other relevant state before displaying it inside of the modal.
