Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 238 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
32Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we aim to wrap up a bunch of small tasks before I take a trip back home. The goal was to have a nice clean slate to be able to work on a new page for a little while to get a break from all the post work. The first thing we focus on is going around and fixing typos that I noticed while editing up the refactoring videos. Once we have rounded up most of the typos we switched focus to making changes across the application in preparation for creating replies with the new post logic. Once the non-reply components are updated, we also update all of the create reply components to be able to create a reply with the new logic. Finally, we had some issues previously with viewing individual posts and replies, so we go through and fix up the issues so we can finally see replies properly, along with clicking on an individual post and viewing the replies like you are supposed to.
