Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 237 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we finally wrap up working on being able to edit an image that is attached to a post. We start out be fixing up the many mistakes that we made in the previous episode but did not have time to fix. This included a missed CSS class, and some typos in the edit media modal top. Then we switched our attention to the edit media modal controls. We had to setup some new logic inside of the component to allow us to switch between different aspect ratios. Then we also setup new html to allow us to actually choose which aspect ratio we wanted the image in. We added three new SVGs to go along with the new html, and wrapped up inside of the edit media modal where we had to add a new case to our save image switch case to be sure we were saving the image changes before sending the post off to be stored in the database.
