Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 250 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React
3Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we primarily go through and fix some of the bugs that have been bothering me/left over from our last batch of episodes we recorded while creating our lists page. First off we fix the weird border issue on the lists page top bar. Then we fix the spacing issue on the lists search bar where the close icon doesn’t get pushed to the end of the search bar inside of the create lists modal. The final bug we fix has been plaguing us since the beginning of the series where the modal background does not disable scrolling on the page and members can still scroll around, while fixing that issue we also enabled the ability to open the modal from any scroll position on the page which will be a massive improvement in later episodes. After we got done bug fixing we quickly switched focus on setup work for a new modal to display the list members or followers. We do this by setting up new state in the modal slice and lists slice, creating a skeleton modal component, and then updating the list card, list hover card, and the modal container to enable us to load in the data needed to display the modal.
