Let’s Play BG2 EE #19: Dealing with Mae’Var
139With the evidence of Mae’Var’s treachery handed over to Renal, we’ve fulfilled our end of the bargain he struck with us. When presented with the opportunity to dispatch Mae’Var ourselves however, Terri jumped at the opportunity to do so; it can’t hurt to further ingratiate ourselves to Renal and doing so allows us to loot Mae’Var, taking all his equipment as our own. As the head of a guildhouse it’s likely that the man has a magic item or two that we’ll want, not to mention that the experience we’ll gain from defeating him is always nice.
What’s also always nice is getting paid for a job well done and in this case, we are paid very well indeed, putting us quite close to being able to afford the information to locate where Imoen has been taken to. We won’t be using that money for that however, as we’ll eventually need to purchase better equipment to arm our party with. We’ll be doing that once we’ve dealt with all the time sensitive quests we have, for the last thing we want to do is lose a party member to that and at this point, we should be able to deal with any quests a companion has given us with the equipment we already have… hopefully.
