Let’s Play Commander Keen IOTV #01: Remember Where we Parked
339You ever had one of those days as an eight year old where you’ve flown to Mars in the interstellar spaceship you built yourself to save the galaxy under your space-faring alias of Commander Keen, only to have some pesky aliens steal parts from it so you can’t escape? Me neither, but Billy Blaze must have done something to upset the Vorticons as they’re intent to making sure he doesn’t get back home. If that wasn’t bad enough, Billy has to escape Mars before his parents return from their night out AND before the babysitter wakes up, else he’s in serious trouble. He might even get GROUNDED!
It’s up to us to help Commander Keen retrieve the missing parts of his ship and return home, all while navigating platforming levels full of aliens, robots, spiky doom and toys to collect. Who knows, perhaps we’ll discover just what plans the Voritcons have for Earth, though I get the feeling we won’t find that out until a lot later in the trilogy, a point we won’t get to if we don’t get started with our search.
