You may think that large open arenas full of enemies are dangerous but there’s something even more perilous: unguarded gifts. Be it a powerful weapon, lots of ammunition or a supercharge, such bounties are honey pots used to ensnare the unwary and defeat them. Move too far into the room with it and the door may shut behind you, unable to be opened. Grab it and the trap will be sprung, enemies appearing from an opening wall or teleporting in all around you. Even early on in the game you’re given few things for free, forced to fight for your treasures and possibly lose more then you’ll gain.

Always be on your toes, no matter how safe you think the area is. Enemies can teleport in at any time and with no armour you can perish from only a few direct hits. If you suspect there’s a trap ahead there likely is and even if there isn’t, it doesn’t hurt to presume there will be. Remember that slow and steady wins the race; only the brave and the foolish seek to beat the par time for each level.
