Let's Play Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex - Part 10: It's Getting Cold and Dark
We're starting warp room 4 this time. Level 16, Avalanche, is a Coco level, and it has a snow theme, a unique method of getting the second gem, and probably the most ill-fitting music for a snow level since the GBA version of Frosty Frolics in Donkey Kong Country 3. (Or maybe I'm just used to ice levels having more somber and crystal-y tracks.) Level 17, Droid Void, starts out all right and has an interesting theme, but then it gets into a hanging grate section, which are REALLY slow in this game, and the rest of the level takes place in a mechanical suit, which would be fine except that the suit depends on its gun to damage anything, and even with a cursor, the thing can't hit the broad side of a barn. The level also definitely feels longer than it needs to be; probably a third to half of the mech part could have been cut. (And it's not helped by the gem path for this level being so forgettable; I remembered nothing about it, and I suspect part of that is because it looks pretty much identical to the main level.)
