Well, it's that time again...time for the final stretch of the game! Sort of, anyway...we just have two more levels to go: Koindozer Klamber (8-4) and Poisonous Pipeline (8-5). Both of them are a bit of a pain, but we've had worse. Koindozer Klamber's gimmick is Koin-like enemies that try to bump you off ledges, while Poisonous Pipeline's is reversed controls underwater (and the level is almost entirely underwater). Then there is Kastle Kaos, where we actually have a rematch with the eponymous KAOS, who goes down pretty quickly this time. However, he is followed by the actual final boss, K. Rool, or in this game, Baron K. Roolenstein, who has a "mad scientist" motif this time around. His battle consists of 4 different phases, each based on hitting him in the back with barrels and most involving electricity zapping along the floor. Defeating him gets Donkey and Diddy Kong back, and then we get the credits sequence.

Now the game is over...or is it? Actually, no. We're still missing 5 DK coins and 13% completion percentage, so something must be up. There is in fact a secret ninth world in this game (or eighth in the SNES version), which we will be getting into next time.
