If there’s one thing I’ve become better at as I’ve grown older, it’s seeing projects through to completion. My computer is littered with countless half completed stories and the number of games I’ve finished is far overshadowed by the far larger pile of ones I got so far through and then… stopped. There’s often no particular reason why I drifted away from these things, though other obligations and new things appearing can certainly take a fair amount of the blame.
I speak of this because when the Avatar went to the Nether, we only got one of the things I wanted to get from there. Blaze rods are essential to brewing potions but there’s something that’s just as important to get for that, if not more so: nether wart. Only capable of growing in soul sand, it’s used as the starting point for brewing almost all potions and so is vital to our future endeavours. Unlike the brewing stand, which you can now get without visiting the Nether provided you’re lucky with natural village generation, you need to go to the Nether for soul sand and nether wart, so it’s off we go once again to a place of peril and doom.
