Let’s Play HC Minecraft Take Three #36: Methodical Meandering

There are many ways to fill in a map, though some are more time efficient then others. Methods that minimise the amount of time you spend in places already mapped out are the best, which often involves zigzags or spiral patterns. These routes won’t stop the process from being a long one – especially if you have to travel about by foot and don’t have a horse – but saving small amounts of time is certainly something I won’t say no to.
What I tend not to like doing is automating things. Many and varied are the ways to get Minecraft to do things for you, each involving complicated redstone contraptions that are well beyond my ability to create. Even if I could create them I likely wouldn’t, in part because I rather enjoy doing the things that they automate. I know my playstyle is far from efficient but that’s not why I play this game. I play to have fun and that’s exactly what I do. Minecraft is a game all about finding your own enjoyment and the fact that there is no ‘wrong’ way to play is one of the best things about it.
People may groan at all the inefficient things in this playthrough, but no-one can say that I didn’t enjoy myself.
